Hello just bought my M1A2 Abrams, found this forum and decided to join. I'm a brand new RC tanker I bought the upgraded edition Abrams from Motion RC. I'm not sure If i can do much for upgrades on it since the screws on it are weird. That being said anyone know of a decent wireles camera that would fit in that cupula on the left front of the turret? I'll post a pic in a reply. It is on my phone

Welcome to the madhouse, from Argyll and Bute. From reading other posts, access on the new Abrams, is from the top. There are screws hidden under grills and covers. As mine is an older model, I am unable to help further.

Two US sources for HengLong are https://www.toucanhobby.com/ and https://www.motionrc.com/. You can search both those sites to see if an FPV camera is available. The MFU (the black plastic covered board inside the hull) is likely a HengLong 7.0. I think it has a connection and capability for FPV camera, but there are others on here more familiar than I.

I reworked an Abrams about six or seven years ago, so I do not know what changes might have been made to the assembly. But almost all RC tanks use self-tapping screws to affix the bottom of the hull to the top. All one need do is use a Phillips screwdriver to back the screws out. The screws will seem tight because when the tank is assembled at the factory, the screws actually cut their own threads in a post. I usually keep the screws arranged so that when I put them back in on reassembling the hull, they will fit the original threads they cut. However, I have goofed that up plenty of times and nonetheless had no problems.

Welcome from Texas. Well you decided to join probably the most active forum so good choice. Our former oppressors put up with a bunch of us colonists on the site and we pretty much all get along. Lots of Abrams builds on here so if you want to go detail crazy, take a look at Barry's build.
