I already have these on my Panther and KT.
Just purchased these grills for my Das Reich Tiger 1.
This is a question I probably should have asked already but
Did WW 2 German panzers actually have these?
You rarely see top down period views of tanks.
Thx as usual.

Yes they did.
Are difficult to make out in most period photos but yes they were fitted.
Early Tigers had 2 layers apparently.
Some KTs had a raised panel of mesh under the turret bustle to prevent mines being slung under it.
I will look for some pics

As Herman said Tiger 1 had grills but also under the front ones there were also a finer set [double layer] These protected the fuel tanks. Not the rears just the fronts. Aber produce these as a addition to their standard set of deck grills [ Part no 16 056] . but hardly no one installs these as to cost and probably not knowing these existed.

Some photos of the double layer deck grills.
In the book [The Modeler's Guide to the Tiger Tank ] page 29 has a close up photo of the double layer front grilles versus the rear single layer. Also if you go on to the web site [World War Photos] select Germany then Tanks then Tiger part 3 you will find a close up photo of a crew member or mechanic working in the engine compartment of one of these beasts. In the photo you can see the double layers. Hope this is of interest to some one.
