It should. Not sure how well it will do. Depends on how you set it up. I've never personally done it, but I think others have. I guess that all depends on what you expecting out of it.

From what I understand with the Open Panzer board, When turning a tight radius, you can steer with the tracks as well, not if this is possible with the Heng long board.

Gmhgq: you list a FAMO among your goodies. Is that the Asiatam FAMO? If so, how did you get the tracks to work without jamming?

This Famo is a 1/10 3d printed model, I haven’t done any wiring hookups yet.

Hi Gmhgq,

Below I've attached a picture of the items that I used to operate an halftrack vehicle.

1- sound module ( optional )
2- radio receiver
3- dual motor esc
4- led light on/off control ( optional )
5- steering servo

The above items cost me less than £50 ( you will need your own programmable radio/controller though )

I included the sound module and light switch in the list as they were in the picture and I didn't want to confuse things.

The dual motor esc controls each track separately ( obviously you will need separate motors to do this ) the steering servo and dual esc both connect to the receiver by means of a Y harness which allows them both to be plugged into the same channel, this means that when you steer left or right the opposite track stops aiding in turning using the other track which still has motion, it can look and sound a bit complicated but when you lay it all out as I did in the picture it's relatively easy to work out, hope this helps and may give you another option Image

Cheers, Lee.

Thank you, Model Builder 4: that photo is a great help to me, too! I have Will and Catherine's SdKfz. 251 up next.

Thx bud
I do have a open panzer tcb
I was going to use(maybe)
The trouble is I’m in Australia, and the freight & conversion rate is a killer(eg Open panzer board delivered $325.00)
So I was hoping to use the Heng long set as it is a bucket load cheaper.
Cheers

Keep in mind the TCB has a pretty steep learning curve to it.

The esc that I've shown in the picture above costs under £15 from Aliexpress which includes taxes and shipping, it is very easy to use and requires no programming and it does exactly what I needed it to do, I've added a link to the first one I came across on Aliexpress

Cheers, Lee.
