I’d go a Taigen lower hull, an HL upper and get bits from all over the globe.
Not metal, too hard to modify
Great price though

Herman that's exactly what I was planning/pricing but it'll actually turn out to be almost the same price or more expensive to do it your/my way.

I've seen a few Mato Stugs at the club field. They just look off. They seem to sit way too high. I think the return rollers need to be lowered to look correct and the lower hull also lowered as well. Good runners though

Just get a Pro version H/L with the plastic hull.
Metal bits are great, metal hull & upper= not so.
Thats just me though but you do need a StuG...............the "Life "is calling :shifty:

I have the Mato PZ3 which is of course the same lower hull. I had to do some metal grinding and swapped out the fastener they use for a track adjuster so the tracks wouldn't hit the adjuster. Had to drill a few holes of my own to get the kit to go together. It does sit kinda high. For what I paid which was $300 and I got a good deal on a preprogrammed PZ3 TK80 for $150, it's a decent runner. I also had a PZ3 from HL that I converted into an SU-76i. Personally I thought the plastic HL adjuster was horrible. It flexed A LOT so I think I would go with a Taigen hull also. JMHO...

This bunch seems to have experience with this .
Id still go Taigen lower/plastic upper but it really depends on what StuG you want to build.
Find a pic then make the choice I reckon.

Mr Chef.
You don’t need one. 😄

Stugs invite changes, detailing, and if you like it--field wear and tear. All metal just makes the process unpleasant and more frustrating than it needs to be. My cash would join the Bix Consortium--Taigen lower, HL upper.

I'd be mighty tempted to find a HL with the right metal running gear and take a walk on the Beier-side and see what electronics luxury is all about!

Mike.

I vote "nay": it took me three years to get my Mato M10 working, given all kinds of problems. I did get the Clark board working fine, but I had to do a complete turret rebuild. I concur that metal running gear with plastic hull, etc, is a better way to go.Now ColemanCollector's idea would appeal to me if I had the moola.
