Hi Guys
I am a newbie to this hobby.
I have a Tamiya Panzer IV and Carson Flexstick 2
The tank was built by my late step father. The model has been fully completed and all RC equipment is in place. However I have no information on how to marry the Carson TX up to the tank. The tank has a MF-05 and a T03 installed if that helps?
Can anyone guide me through the exact set up process, as all I see are various flashing lights and no idea what they mean.

usually have to pair the TX (transmitter) with the RX ( receiver) to complete the binding process etc not sure on that model though am sure someone on here will know

I think you may have something here, as it is possible this Transmitter may have been used for other project. Do you know how the do a Factory reset on the Carson Flex stick? Thanks again

So normally with a Tamiya tank, you turn on the transmitter, and then turn on the tank. You would be greeted with the start up sound. So can we assume there is no start up sound? If not, have your tried to turn up the volume on the tank? If the volume is turned up and the tank doesn't start, more than likely the receiver needs to be rebound to the transmitter. After that you may need to recalibrate the tank. Did you get a Tamiya manual when you got the tank?

No unfortunately I haven't got any manuals. The volume is turned up. If I put the MF unit in test mode, it sounds and all the functions work, just not paired to the Transmitter. I think I just need to know how to reassign the transmitter and receiver?

Hi Carl, first you need to bind the receiver with the transmitter. Obviously the transmitter will automatically find the receiver, if receiver is compatible. Turn on the model so the receiver has power, than turn on your transmitter, when the led on the receiver becomes solid it is binded. Look at this document: https://cdn.simba-dickie-group.de/downl ... Pro_UK.pdf Next step is to setup the Tamiya modules, therefore turn on the transmitter, than your model. Press the small set button on the MF unit. The sound should silence and yhe modules blink red. Now move left stick up and down, left to right, than right stick up and down and left to right. Lights should turn green, press set once again. Motor sound should come up. Try all movements (forward, back, left, right, turret motion and barrel) if one of the functions is not like desired, eventually switch the cables on the receiver. (personally i prefer this setup: left stick up/down=forward/reverse, left/right=turret left/right, right stick up/down=barrel up/down, left/right =turret left/right)

In order and before that, you must first check that the transmitter, receiver assembly works well and identify who does what on the radio (level of the sticks?) the simplest is to connect servos to the RX and see what does what? Tamiya has a particularity? there are 2 functions that are triggered by modifying the position of the trims? these are the small black buttons that are located in parallel with the sticks, and which can be mechanical (standard transmitter) or digital (programmable radio) is there a trick to get around this? but the rest must already be OK
