T-44/85 pic update .. i love the rain !
hi all
i am sorry to say that when the site was stolen by that other company .. my build for the t-44 was lost as it was posted between back ups ..
so ... i have to start again ! ..cool !
so here we go
i managed to get me a WSN t34 just a chassis with motors and gbox .. hull top and turret with no gun barrel and anything else .. no electronics !
the tank is based on drawings from george bradford book... which its claimed to be the production tank .. so here we go ¬

Re: T-44/85 yes T-44 again !
the t34 chassis .. actualy not that bad .. i do have concerns for the front road wheel set up ...just an exposed spring and a fradgile looking support arm .... i think about that for a bit and may try to bolster it ..
anyway .. the chassis

anyway .. the chassis

Re: T-44/85 yes T-44 again !
after i enlarged the drawings from G Bradfords book ...
i set about working out how to build a hull so i could remove and fit
i knw it would mean a new hull top ..
so with a bit of head scratching i came up with a simple frame .. whcih just slot in to the chassis ..

..well its begining to look the part ! ..
i can see that there still masses to do ... 4
as usual with soviet early armour .. pics are so damd hard to find .....
seems to have to spend hours just studying pics and looking at the t-34 and the t-54 and try to get some where in the middle .
its fun ! ...not ..

Re: T-44/85 yes T-44 again !
yes .. i think your right matt ... i keep looking at the amount of detail i need to create ..and thinking oh why do i do it ?
i think the next project will be out the box with just a few mods .. like the panther g or the sherman .. yea right ...
just a foot note .. dont know if you visit wells toy and model ... its final closeing down .. last day saturday .. did it today
all the kitts are 1/2 pirce or less so spent £200 and came home with 32 kits... airfix and revell 1/48 and 1/72.... its a crying shame the shop had gone ... now there just one shop in weston .. one in frome ..and two in bristol..
its seem that browsing the hobby shop while the misses dose the shoping seems to be a thing of the past... or take laptop to mcdonalds and buy on line .... but its just not the same as a good old mooch in a good shop
