Life is too short to be serious.
Last week was the annual lads week away to Italy skiing. 12 Went, and we all returned, the youngest being 58. We have been doing this most years for about 30 years or longer. New people have joined, some have passed on, but the friendship remains. We have mixed ability, which started at work, as a walking, climbing, skiing group, and shooting group. We now act as a support group for each other.

First purchase, on passing through Duty Free.
Well after all a small libation is required to ease the aches and pains at the end of the day.
As usual, the scenery, was stunning.
No matter what happens in the mountains there is always time for Rosti

Excellent Ladin, and Tyrolean food, and beer.

Part two.

Two Italians were found, and for some strange reason they were wearing kilts, as their uniform. This is when my niece on seeing the pictures, decided I am transforming into a large Gnome.
We had some snow, and the kids still went to school. Unlike the UK.
Or some reason a German gave me a stuffed donkey called Pepe? I have no idea why.
Sometime was spent discussing what the collective noun would be for piste bashes. After some beer, we decided on a pisten.
Lastly a kilted Gnome went looking for the very rare Dolamitti Haggis. But at the end of the day he cam home empty handed.
A great week away, renewing friendship, talking bollocks, and assisting in our own mental health. I think we must have been ahead of the game.

Thank you for posting these photos, Ian! I think they are great! I have not tried skiing, even though I am Wisconsin born and raised (despite moving around the US for years). At this age, even snowshoes are tricky for me. (Try snowshoeing with duck feet).

As Mr Chef has resorted to blackmail, to get me to buy an another Tiger 1, by threatening to publish a short video of a ‘owd bloke. I will publish it, if it first, to remove the threat.
It had to be in YouTube as neither of us could work out how to do it.

Well. I am about 1/8th Scottish....
