RC Tank Warfare community hobby forum

hi all
        i have just been reading the older topics, while looking through the site, the first thing i would like to say is,  i wish i had heard of this site sooner,  because i would of joined right from the off, i am on two other forums, and as good as they are, in my opinion this site though small'ish at the moment is only going to grow and get better, the members here are by far the most friendly bunch of tankers(spelt with a t ) of all the forums i am a member of, you can ask something, and you get an answer, you can have a laugh as well, personally i cant wait to meet them at bovvy or someplace, and play tanks, i have 1/16 tanks, because at the mo' i cant afford a 1/6 plus in a bungalow a 1/6 would take up the whole ground floor(nearly) i go regularly to mark one tanks open days, mainly to see the tanks, and to take loads of photos(i got 100's) some of the 1/6 boys that i have spoken to, MARK in particular are really decent, and they dont judge you on the size of your tank, BUT some of the uktc bunch that often get there at marks open days are very "elitist" which i dont got no time for. why, may you ask am i bringing this up again?, well for a kick off, i got my straight head on at the mo',( i'm watching emmerdale) and to reiterate that this site is the place to be, if your in to tanks, and want a laugh and a joke with a great bunch of blokes, oh and to get help if needed with your beloved tanks, other sites take note, we're here to stay.

i still cant beleive that this forum i initially made actually became something... now it seems to have per day more posts than the tank section on rcu, its half term at the moment.. so when i check back on rcu and refresh... surprise surprise no new posts... but here their is almost garenteed to be one!!

I also attend some of Mark's open days and I'm a member of the UKTC, I have tanks from 1/25 up to 1/6 scale though I have slimmed down the 1/16 collection of late, if you are after going to a meet which will be attended by BOTH clubs running only 1/16 tanks from any manufacturer http://www.rctankwarfare.com/Forums/ind ... 145.0.html

                      i hope you didnt take offence at my post, that was not the intention, the point i was trying to make was some of the uktc do act like that, as do a lot of other forums,  rivet' you do come across(from your posts) a decent bloke, why cant every club, forum,etc work together to promote our hobby, which just doesnt really happen, which is a shame, and i also hope this site does grow and flourish,and keeps the relaxed attitude like frank said.  i would like to go to that meet but nott's is to far for me

I personally havent come across this eliteism on other forums but im just grateful that there is now a 1/16 dedicated forum in good old Blighty for a change.
This place is the place to talk about tanks and have a laugh at everything about life in general.
We will soon have our 100th member not bad going from an idea.

i was a member of a modeling forum and thats the reason i finished with it, the guys here all seem fine and very helpful, but what do i know i,m still new to this forum and RC stuff in general but i do get a good vibe on here and for me thats important, i don't think the type of people who you describe are elitist  they just like to think they know more than others and love the attention they get , its called the GOD COMPLEX, i went to a model show a few years ago and put a 120 mm fig into the competition, it was a Brit soldier in south armagh ( ulster ) circa 1980,s the fig was holding an SLR with a 30 round mag suit site bi-pod and a five mag lite torch underneath the fore grip one of the judges looked at it and said THAT should be in the fantasy section,  when i inquired why he said he spent six years in the Territorial army and never saw a weapon like that, so i very politely told him i have seen that type of weapon, and produced a photo of me in south armagh with said weapon, as he was surrounded by his flock of followers this did not go down very well with him, and to this day he has never spoken to me, i guess i inadvertently knocked him off his podium, i did post some pics of my heng long tiger 1 on a model site i was a member of and got one responce just one, and that was to tell me the desert yellow was to dark...... go figure  :-\

great site,great tanks, great projects and great guys , what more could you ask for.

All i can say is thanks guys and thanks to matdragon for the forum and all the work the guys are putting in behind the scenes

Pete (971wright) for all the pestering he does to get people on board and countless PMs he makes in motivating everyone also his organisation skills for organising the campsite at wareham forest (Battle 1)

same goes to Chris (grompix) and paul (septon) for the same efforts there end

Norse and rickster for there Techy wizardry and throwing us into the .com without any major hassles Thanks guys

Hard to believe that this time last year we were talking about forming a club and here we are today with one and nearly 100 members (forum)

also thanks to all the new guys who are contributing to making this one hell of a good forum/club and i for one cant wait to meet all of you at a battle/meet sometime in the not so distant future


when i made that first post on RCU never imagined this at all think you get the idea i might be a bit chuffed
