There's still a lot to do, but it's now running. I've spent a lot of time on it so far, will update as work progresses.

Very good job !

I appreciate the work as Im doing the same :) Mine is not running yet.

I found funny the comment it turns like a ferry :) That's thge feeling I have with my DUKW, while I tried to keep it as accurate as I could, the turning radius is so big... but it seems it's normal and the M8 has the same problem haha.

Yes, I think it was a completely normal thing for them to need a lot of space to turn. The one I saw in Normandy only drove straight, unfortunately.
And yes, thank you very much. I look forward to seeing yours finished too.

Yeah same, I only saw the M8 drove straight in the camp where I was (but then they drove it on the regular country roads and had an accident with a car :haha: ).

Do you have any pics of your build ? Im curious to know what you used for the motors and transmissions. I bought several motors and not sure which ones to use. My DUKW is 6X6 but it is too much work so Im just going for a 6X4 M8.

A rotating turret is going to be very challenging.

I have used wpl axles in mine and also their gearbox. Had got the n20 motor home but found out it was hispeed.
I have very little space left inside mine so I don't want to try to get a servo on the turret.

Thanks, that's the axles I bought for it. Are you using the stock styrene tires ? I may at first but will probably my own rubber version as they are way off on the kit (not blaming them, that's because they have limitations to make them in styrene, that's why I prefer the rubber type ones as they can be more accurate).

Not sure for the turret yet, I may try to do something.

I use them from the kit, they are cut so that I can mount the center of a WPL wheel inside.

Nice ! I don't have WPL wheels, gonna make some 3D printed inserts then ! Thanks for the pic :)

Unfortunately I don't have the opportunity to 3D print myself so I had to use what I had.

Now the bottom is assembled and running as it should.
Now all that's left is the tower and some more paint.
