Looking for a UK WW2 era RC tank.
Found some that are Tongde.
Is Tongde another name for Heng Long?
Any experience you can share w/ that brand?

I believe Tongde is Korean, Heng Long is Chinese, Tamiya is Japanese but a lot of their kits are made in China, Haya Tanks are designed in the UK (Wales) built by Heng Long in China, Taigen/Torro is Chinese.
I have a Tongde Centurion and a Haya Centurion which was cheaper than the Haya but of pretty much the same value, Just a few shortcuts (String for the tow rope versus metal on the Haya) Better back up with Haya.

I like the TongDe Churchill. It is as smooth to control as a HengLong tank with TK7.0. Although I cannot attest to accuracy of the details, my only concern is the gap between the lower front hull and glacis. I believe that could be overcome with some fiddling. TongDe provided a Churchill, to me a quintessential WWII UK as the various M4 Shermans are quintessential WWI US.

Tongde and Heng Long are separate companies in China. Their models are of similar quality. Their motherboard has similar functions to Heng Long 7.1 (e.g. support for servos).

I've got the Centurion and Churchill. Both run well and seem well built. No problems so far but haven't had time to open them up for work etc. The only issue I can see is spares, but that may improve with time. Electronics are pretty good, and there are a load of options to mess with for track recoil etc.
I think there's a Crusader coming "soon", and fairly sure someone mentioned Matilda 2 too.
Dave (Forgebear) is stocking them.

Crusader will be from Coolbank, not Tongde

Thanks. So another tank that's capable of ludicrous speed!

A Crusader will be great but like RobW says, I hope Coolbank doesn't overdo it in the speed department like with the Stuart. Should be large enough for separate gearboxes so maybe that will calm them down. I mean Crusaders and Stuart were fast, but come on!
Mike.

I also plan to buy it in a few months. The reviews are positive.
