Good day,
Hello from S.E. Iowa, USA !
First "post" other than the introducing myself section. Just turned 64, still working for awhile. Many hobbies; motorcycles, shortwave radios, model railroading, four wheel driving, radio control vehicles,TANKS !, building military model kits, including
this one some 25 + years ago. I recall running it alot, it developed issues with one of the driving motors responding to commands. It was placed on a shelf out in my
shop. Some time ago I noticed one of the tracks was gone ! I looked everywhere,
but who knows what happened to it, and how long it had been missing. Best guess is mice, although I saw no evidence of that. Its darn cold here right now, so instead of stoking the woodstove and waiting on warmth, I relegated myself to the house. So, I got to thinking about this 'ol guy languishing in a tote in the basement and thought, it sure doesn't deserve to be. I've a parts request in to Tamiya USA to see if a replacement track is available, so we'll see. The good news is I have a power indicator light when I installed the batteries, but no response with remote for any tank movement, onward, I suppose to inspect the board/solder connections, which my 'ol brain can't remember doing at the time it started acting
up ! Anyway, it was a cool kit to build, now, it would be cool to have it back up and
tanking once again !
Happy 2025 !
Dave
