Projects for 2025

It’s that time of year again, a time for planning and researching my 2025 projects. I would like to throw out some questions

I need a good 1/16 model of a Sig 33 for a possible Panzer 1 Bison build. Has anybody ever printed and built the one on the Cults site. If so what were the results like?

Can anybody recommend a Good 1/16 Model of a PAK 40 or even a PAK 36(R) as mounted in a Marder I Lorraine. I know there are 3D prints available but again has anybody actually printed one and what were the results?

Has anybody any practical experience of Etching their own Brass parts? Not building etch kits but creating the kits in the first place. I have a stupid idea about making a 1/16 etch kit.

I know that Battleground Models sells a Pak 36 for $68, https://www.battlegroundmodels.com/prod ... 6-37mm-gun and Gecko Hobbies has announced an injection molded 1/16 Pak 40 though it has not been released yet.

I recommend Battleground Models. I have quite a number of his printed items, and he was very helpful to me when I had questions about WWII radios (of which he has an array in 3D print to offer, too).

Hi Guys to clear up a little confusion I need the German 75mm PAK 40 or the Russian 76.2mm Anti Tank Gun captured "En Masse" by the Germans and pressed into German service for some reason they called it the PAK 36(R), Due to shortage of suitable guns it was mounted in a lot of self propelled guns especially the Marder I. It is not to be confused with the 37mm Pak36.

Exhibitedbrute I will be contacting you shortly for details of the PAK 40

Herr Dr Professor. I have set myself not 2 but 3 projects this year
Finish off motorizing and R/cing a 1/16 Kettenkrad, all I am short of is the tiny bevel gears for the gearbox.

Finish off a 1/16 R/c'd 3d printed Marder 1 Lorraine. It is off the Cult website, it is a very good model but I feel it can be improved so I set myself the difficult task of making a full etch brass kit for the vehicle including a brass fighting compartment.

Lastly I am collecting bits for a 1/16 panzer 1 Bison build. I have a stock of gears, tracks, shock absorbers etc and some etch bits for it, All I need is a Panzer 1 B kit. So I am on the prowl for a really cheap kit to chop.

That being said If I happen to stumble upon any other possible projects these may take a back burner. Perhaps a Panzer IV for a Brumbar or .....................................

The new Trumpeter Sd.Kfz 251/22 and the upcoming Das Werk kit have an 1/16 injection molded Pak 40. I suspect a standalone towed version will be available at one point.

I can also do the Russian zis 6 at gun or I think that’s what it’s called. It’s the 76mm one anyway I have 2 of them 1 behind a truck and one set up in its firing position. Just in case that’s not enough there’s also the early 17pdr.

There have been a few rumors of releases for both the Sig 33 and PAK 40. I only wish they would materialize. I have seen them advertised as pre order, I have seen box artwork, but they never show up.
For vehicles with open fighting compartments you really need well detailed guns as they are the centre of attention for the build.

A Good Sig 33 would lead to many different builds Panzer I Bison, Panzer II Bison, Sturminfanteriegeschütz 33, two version of the Grille, 38t Sturmpanzer and others

the PAK 40 would give both versions of the Marder 1 , Marder II (late Version) Both versions of the Marder III (Yes I know you can get one version as a kit) As well as lots of others.

Throw in highly detailed kits of a Pak36(R) and a single barrel 20mm Flak 38 and I would have 10 years of projects and you would never hear from me ever again.
