I have just ordered a 3D printed 1/16 scale Conquerer tank and hope to get this added to the modern tank build thread as I would like to detail the model from delivery to fully painted and running.

This will be my first experience of working with a 3D printed model and I am looking forward to learning how to work with this important new medium that is becoming ever more popular in our hobby.

It is also the only way I am able to add this important British Cold War tank to my collection.......and I am really looking forward to seeing it eventually running alongside my Centurion tanks.

Thanks Prof, but I only consider myself as being a "bodger" who enjoys trying to improve as I go along. There are a lot of really skilled contributors on here that make my humble efforts look rather pathetic - but they inspire me to keep trying to do better, and that is how I learn.

My tanks are all completed to a "stand-off" level of finish as they are all going to be "used" and driven quite a lot - none of them are ever going to be able to stand up to serious or close scale scrutiny.

As long as they look good to me when they are being driven, I am more than happy as I don't expect them to be viewed at any distance closer than 6 - 10 feet away (maybe more) when they drive past at their closest point.

Your wise cracks are something to look forward to

My 3D printed Conquerer delivery is some weeks away, so I will use the time until it arrives to do some repair/maintenance/improvements on my other tanks that have been neglected while I have been tied-up with the HAYA Centurion KIT build.

I look forward to this build. A bodger you are not. That’s my title.

This is a light exercise....

My 1/16 scale 3D printed Conquerer has finally arrived!

I will add some pictures and observations as I go along as they may be of some interest to others who could be contemplating adding a Conquerer to their Modern Tank fleet.

The box arrived undamaged and as far as I can see (at first glance) the tank looks to be undamaged as well.

One of the first things I need to do is to work out how to open it to take a look inside, and it looks like it will open by removing the top half of the hull (deck)? - but I am out today and tomorrow so I won't have a lot of time to investigate until later in the week.

Any owners of one of these 3D print Conquerer models that has already got theirs working would be welcomed to offer any hints or tips that could be helpful and of interest - especially regarding radio fit and choice of motors etc.

I think the two visible cross head screws may give access to remove the top half of the hull (deck) when unscrewed?

Each of the individual cover “fingers” can be opened individually if required.

The cupola rotates (like the HAYA Centurion) and the main gun recoils and elevates by individual servos.

All three hatches open, and the front access cover lifts off to reveal the barrel recoil servo and the barrel elevation servo.
