Green Stuff 2 part for molding, creating and modeling,
Bondo Automotive glazing for more serious gap filling and surface refinishing,
Tamiya Regular and Fine putty for surface texture and gap filling that I use for these projects.

That's likely enough Green stuff for 100 tanks. It'll prolly go bad before I can use it all, but it was on sale and I had no idea how big it was or how far it would go.

I haven't tried the Green Stuff yet but intend to try it the next time. Glad you started this and the adhesives thread. I'm just worried you might start a spice rack and cooking supply thread. You are far too neat (or do a bunch of cleaning before the photo shoot.

A Tip,
If you have a tube of green putty that has not been used for a long time and appears to be dried out don't throw it away, It just needs a soak in water.

This is good to know. Thanks jarndice.

When working with it I use water to sculpt it or mold it or make thin noodles with it between 2 pieces of styrene sheet for weld beads. I also found out that you can slow its curing by putting the mixed green in the freezer. I've tested it and in a zip-lock bag can last overnight.

I chose it because it's well known, relative ease of sculpting and good long work time about 3 hours before it starts to harden and cure. Fully cures in about 8 -12 hours. The only negative is that it doesn't lend itself to sanding particularly well.

I've tried Miliput white, cheap plumber's epoxy putty from Home Depot, Apoxie Sculpt, and Green Stuff. I like both Miliput and Green Stuff best, but Apoxie Sculpt is less sticky than the other two. The cheap putty from Home Depot is nice if you need a lot of the stuff cheap, but it dries really fast compared to the others - like unworkable within a half hour. A lot of folks swear by the Tamiya epoxy putty, but I haven't used it.
