G‘day Tankbuilders.
Back in 2021 I bought me this:

And I got this aluminum set from another member at the German HLPF:

The aluminum has a thickness of 2mm and is from a good quality.

Now that I am retired and having a bit more sparetime than before, it was about time to get this thing on the road!

The Winterketten might not be period correct on this model, I do not know.
But actually I do not care very much about it, just like the overall looks!
I once bought a new Panzer IV metal hull from Taigen which had the Winterketten and a V2 board in it.
Bought that to make a Jagdpanzer IV out of it but last Summer I decided to build another P-IV with these parts and swapped the Winterketten for regular ones.
So the wider tracks were just laying around as a matter of fact.
To be able building that Jagdpanzer IV, I had to get another Panzer IV chassis.
Found a complete Panzer IV, with the TK-7.0 main board an Aliexpress for €128.00, shipping included!
So my Jagdpanzer will get a plastic lower hull/running gear, instead of a metal one.
For my Jagdpanzer I do have a similar aluminum set like this one for the StuG, even with all the side skirts (and suitable for a JagdPanzer of course :/ :/ )
That will be my next project btw.

Next step on the StuG may be putting putty in the gaps between some alu parts from the superstructure.
I also going to make grills on both the air inlets alongside the engine deck. As usual I will make them out of a kitchen sieve.
And I do have a spare set of normal metal tracks too.....just in case.
Gun movements, recoil and shooting things, will not be made on this model.
Electronics are just not my cup of tea......
Just happy I can move this assault gun around!

Indeed, found exactly the same pics last night on the World War Photos site.
So, although this is supposed to be an Ausf.-A, I think the Wnterketten will stay on.

In the meanwhile I proceeded with the 3 men crew which will be peeking out of their hatches.
They are the cheap HL figures which do come with every Panzer bought new.
Years ago I got some sets with different heads, Stahlhelm and Schiffgen from the Sockelshop in Germany.
But they are actually not 1/16 scale, I guess they fit better the 1/18 scale, but they will do fine on the HL fellows!
Painted them back than too.
I just finished carving them to fit the bodies.
