Battleground Models has come out with a set of S-mine dischargers, (in scales of 1/12, 1/16. 1/18 and 1/24). I've been waiting a long time to buy a set of ready-made ones (so as to avoid having to solder up an Aber set), and was always bugged that the Tamiya kit comes with the mounting points on the hull, but not the dischargers. These are printed on their bases, and have the hole-in-the-strap at the rear. In the past, I have bought a set of resin ones from Australia, but was worried that they would be too fragile to hold up over the long haul. The picture on his site shows different bases for the set of five dischargers, but I believe he has changed them to all have the pointed front base, (which is what the real ones had, according to David Byrden's site). I have always avoided fitting "S" Mine dischargers because of the limited time they saw service on the Tiger 1,
January 1943 was when they began installing them but they stopped fitting them in October 1943,
Of course once they were fitted there was no reason to remove them but it seems to me to be a pretty small window so like Zimmeritt which I also manage without I save the money and in the case of zimmeritt I save myself the aggravation as well.
