For those Pz. III guys in the know is this Mato Rommel bin the more accurate size? I've seen a few different ones for sale and it's hard to judge which is a more accurate size based on the pics alone-

Here is another option in resin. I'm not concerned with he hatch opening or the contents but this one is quite a bit more $$$

But this one looks significantly smaller than even the Mato option. Is it more accurate?

For years the problem with accurate Turret bins on PZ111/4 was the way the airsoft mechanism was constructed, Quite simply it took up so much space that it intruded into the Rommel bin,
Taigen/Torro showed that a revised airsoft weapon could be fitted into the Turret without taking up space in the turret bin as witness the upgraded Turret on more recent Taigen/Torro armour, these do come with a very accurate facsimile of the real thing.

Thank you, jarndice: I did not know this. Now I will be more alert to the turret bin on a few Taigen Pzkw. IIIs I have from over fifteen years.

When I was thinking of building a Tamiya very early Tiger 1 the SOL was the bin I was going to use. Still might do one eventually

Hi, I had a similar problem with my Taigen Pz III build regarding the turret Rommel bin.
Below is a link to my build (scroll about half way down the page)
I don’t think the Rommel bin pictured below is still available as I purchased it some time ago, but the one you linked to above looks very similar.
I hope this helps.

I picked this up last month for their Halloween sale which was another 10% off on top of the sale price-

I wouldn't normally go for a metal turret but it had some features I liked and it will be a mule for me to try stuff out on. I didn't know it had been updated to be more accurate. That's why I am asking about it. Good to know. I'll see it Monday when I pick it up from my P.O.box.

Yes, I reviewed your build several times and noted this. That's why I was looking for it and asking about it. We will see soon enough if the updated turret bin from Taigen is more accurate.

Hi Mr Chef as in most areas of our addiction there are pros and cons in Taigen/Torros Panzer 4 revised Turret It comes with a bore sight that even Tamiya has not provided but it also comes with a cupola which is accurate with detailed faux welds around the base BUT as you noted it is a metal turret which makes changing the Ausf G Cupola almost impossible to remove cleanly for a Ausf H/J version this is important because the "H"/"J" cupolas have a one piece commanders hatch unlike the Ausf G and earliers two piece,
The turret bin is a delight to see after suffering years of inaccuracy from Heng Long and Taigen/Torro and with judicius use of a small modelling file the moulded on soft metal blobs can be readily changed into what they are supposed to represent "Hooks",
Very little work on this new Turret changes it in my opinion into the best PZ4 Ausf G turret presently available,
just a pity about the Fixed Cupola.

Martin I've admired your great build as well. Did your turret look the same how the bin attaches at the rear like mine?
I'm curious because you removed your entire rear turret. Was that a choice for aesthetics? I'd be inclined to attach a new bin to the existing mount for durability.
