New kid in RC-town

Hello, let me introduce myself. An amateur in the field of RC. Back in the day, my brothers and I got our first RC tank a Heng Long Tiger 1! This has always stayed with me and I recently came across the tanks again while cleaning up. That's why I decided to make this my hobby. The tanks are outdated and much is broken. That's why I want to build a tank myself and was thinking about the Tiger 1 3 in 1 kit from Toro/Taigen. Tips are welcome! :D

Yes, Porky1997, that's a great choice. You get a decent running Tiger I with the chance to build it yourself and know it inside out. What is more, you can model the Tiger I you want with, if you like, ooh goo gobs of available aftermarket accessories and modifications as well as gazillions of sources of information in books and inline as well as here. Please do keep us informed even before you buy, and ask and show us as you choose and build. This can ve fun.

Thanks for the reply Professor! I know I want to make something myself from start to finish. So I ordered the kit and can't wait to get started. The plan is to first put everything together and from there see which electronics I want in it.

Welcome to the forum Porky1997. Sounds like an adventure. I'm a self professed Tigerholic so I look forward to you sharing progress with your project. Take a good look around the forum as theres loads of information about the Tiger I. Plenty of good people here with friendly helpful information. But be warned especially since it's a Tiger there may be comments that may sound blunt but are extremely helpful especially relating to model and historical accuracy.

Welcome again from one Tiger fan to another.
