3D Printed Boxer CRV build from scratch

Hello All - I just recently found this forum and thought those here might be interested in the Boxer CRV build I'm modeling and 3D printing from scratch.
I don't have time for a long post tonight but wanted to whet your appetite for the longer post that I will do. Below is my 1/16th scale static prototype model of Australia's Boxer CRV Block 1.
It will be controlled via a Raspberry Pi 4. Please stay tuned for a longer post where I start from the begining

I like how you started this thread. Years ago someone suggested we start the thread with a picture of the completed build, or go back and edit the first post to include a picture of the completed build. It didn't get traction and meant little to me until your welcome post a few days ago. I had to look up "Boxer CRV" just to see what you were building. I may go back and edit a few of my builds...
Sometimes it is frustrating to end up on page 10 to figure out what the crafter is building when I am surfing builds. I have a general knowledge of WWII equipment, but throw in French, Italian or Japanese armor and I have to start researching. The same is true with anything post WWII armor.
Great start and I look forward to your progress!

Thanks! How much “history” do you want? Do you want from when I first started teaching myself modeling and Fusion or do you want from when I decide to start in on the actual project? They are separate but related as I part of the reason got into 3D modeling was to do something like this but knew it would be a long term (years) project since I could not dedicate all my free time to it.

Totally up to you. I tend to add some background behind the vehicle (if it is unusual), and then will add info when requested. Your build, your thread... Do it the way you think it should be done.
From your first post "controlled via Raspberry Pi to be able to have driver and gunner views", alien language to me and a few others but I look forward to the education. Who knows? That could be what we all will be doing soon...

Fusion 3D modeling probably has a life/subject of its' own in the 3D printing section:"
viewforum.php?f=33
But I'm sure some will enquire about that in this build thread too.

Welcome and very cool project. Been working on a B1 Centauro myself and have the RC Kootai M1128 MGS as wheeled vehicles.

https://www.adafruit.com/product/4296 is a small and inexpensive single board computer that runs Linux and, among other things, has a direct camera interface allowing you to set up an IP camera. With addon board it can control servos and DC motors. Wanted to try the Raspberry Pi route over traditional RC because I wanted to add FPV to it.

It seems to me, omdowcett, that your Boxer CRV build will suit two sections here on RCTW. One is the 3D Printing section that Ecam motes above:
viewforum.php?f=33 . The second is the Electronics section:
viewforum.php?f=31 .
This may be unnecessarily complicated, but for what it's worth here's an idea: perhaps as you work on the Raspberry PI board for your model, you could post in the Electronics section. Then the 3D part could go in the 3D section. In your initial post in each section you could explain what your project will be and refer readers to the appropirate post in the other section.
Me? I am amazed at both your idea to create the electronics and to 3D print the model. I am eager to read and learn about both.
(Unfortunately, I could not find an Amazing Wizards section, though there are plenty such here on RCTW).

Since m new here and not sure of the from conventions, would it be acceptable to have a main post here and then have posts in the other channels with a link to this thread when I have updates?

Seperate question related to another idea I had…. How are RC tank battles fought/scored? Is it direct fire (line of sight) engagements only or is there indirect fire (howitzers, mortar, rockets)? If there is a link to a discussion that works rather than a brand new explanation.
