Hello. Since I first got the Centurion, I really wanted to make something special out of it. I hesitated for a while between AVRE and Shot Kal, but the choice turned out to be very simple. Here are the results of my tinkering.
There is still a lot to do but I wanted to make the lower part of the hull ready first and then start on the upper one. So I bought a resin printed dozer which unfortunately did not fit the Tamiya version well because it was made for the Haya version which shows that these versions differ in dimensions.
After fitting everything I decided that I would like to have a mobile dozer. Unfortunately they were no longer available on haya.uk but I managed to get in touch with a gentleman from Germany who had a set in his collection. Everything was fine until DHL lost my package... (I think it's the worst courier company) I've been waiting for the second month for the case to develop but I've already lost hope of finding my package with the dozer.

For some time I didn't feel like doing this model because of the current situation but I decided to start with other parts that were left to do. At the moment the metal tracks from DKLMRC arrived and I just painted them today so they will probably be on the tank in a few days. I hope you like the work I have done so far on this model.

The AVRE is one of my favourites- Cobbaton have one in the museum left from the Gulf War.

New metal tracks are already in place.
I don't know how long the paint will last because I don't know if I painted them the right way.
I used a fairly strong primer and then applied black color. After it dried, I painted everything with colorless satin valejo and mixed it with desert dirt and then painted it again with colorless valejo. If you have any advice on painting tracks, I'd be happy to hear it

Generally I use a etching (self etching) primer on metals. It is supposed to bite a bit better and is a multi surface product. I air brush the top coats but almost always use the rattle can (spray bomb) for the primer. The last few builds I've used self etching primer on the complete model.

On the other hand it the paint is worn back and exposes the metal below, it should look just like the real stuff would.

Track finishes are a personal thing. Lately I just use some gun bluing solution to make them grayish and let them weather on their own. Since I run my tanks outside, they get plenty of dirt and stuff on them to look realistic. For me personally making the tracks fancy with washes, dirt and mud effects is a waste of time, but do what makes you happy. The paint will wear off on the pad sections and that is realistic. Tanks that are run have silver spots on the tracks. Those that are sitting for years have rust.

Hello. I haven't been here for a long time and I haven't seen these posts. Your AVRE is very nice. I lost inspiration for mine after my package with a dozer from Haya UK was lost.
