The Sherman MONTEREAU tank of the 501st RCC arrived in France after the African campaign at Utah Beach on August 3, 1944.
He was hit by 3 shells following Panzer fire from ambush, 200 meters from the Croix de Médavy crossroads in the Ecouve forest after having participated in the liberation of Alençon.

Montereau II is the first restored Sherman I have seen that could readily be built from the old plastic Mato Sherman. There's an idea for someone, or maybe a project I could get to in the next 100 years.
