New members?

This is a genuine question without any axe to grind just curious that's all.
Why does someone introduce themselves then after 2 or more pages of members of the Forum welcoming them to our friendly all encompassing club never reappear whereas others jump in with both feet and of course because we are a friendly bunch they fit in perfectly.

I was just thinking about this over my oatmeal this morning, jarndice. Perhaps in some cases, people believe it is a courtesy to introduce themselves instead of just lurking for a while out of curiosity. But sometimes I worry that others may give up seeing the level of some RCTW-ers skill. (Not every klutz is as pigheaded as I am. :haha: )

I guess it's simply because we are all different. Wouldn't it be dull if we weren't! There is no standard model tanker

Was here for just over two hours. Computer blew up, storm knocked out power, forgot which forum he joined/password/user id, cab had a flat tire, not enough money for bus fare, rodents of unusual size spotted in the area, the French are throwing cows off the castle walls again, actually competing in Olympics...

I was a quiet lurker for about two years before I plucked up courage to actually participate. One type person that I observe, is the person who joins, makes a ruckus, “I’m going to do this. I’m going to do that.” Then for two months they post continuously. Then you hear nothing from them.

Well, we get quite a few that don't say much in their introduction, then come back to edit that first post either changing it to spam or adding spam. Same with some random first posts in long dead threads. But, we have an ace in the hole, we can block editing of those weird posts, they usually come back once to the forum, then disappear, one can only assume they gave up trying to edit their post ;)
We also get some that try to sell their junk with their first post, which gets deleted, and they never post again, funny, most of them know the rules but try it on anyway.

I lurked for a long time as I had nothing to contribute really. I mean I was married and had no money...OK...not really correct. I MADE a lot of money, but the wife spent more than I made....lol So technically I had no money for tanks. Then I got divorced and had money for tanks so I started posting.

Anyway, then by the time I started posting I wasn't really "new". You know, getting older and a little more anti-social. The older I get, the more I dislike people... :) I mean you folks are fine, but non-tanker people I can take or leave them. :haha: Is that mean? NVM...don't really care if it's mean or not. :P

Squirrel...

I liked the guy that joined thinking the forum was all about tanker transport trucks.
