Ian, I wish I had done that trip when I was in Scotland. Sure, your funds were hurting, but you were having a good time.
Did you take the last two photos after disemarking? (Woof Woof Woof)

Was that Waverley?
A bit of a me me story,
We used to go to the Isle of Wight in the 50s for the Summer holidays we crossed over on a Paddle Steamer,
What caught this 8 year olds eye was the brass plate bolted to a bulkhead which declared the ship had been part of Operation Dynamo (The Dunkirk Evacuation).
Any knowledge of Waverleys wartime history?

This Waverley is a replacement, built in 1946, to replace the PS Waverley that, that was requisitioned as a mine sweeper, but was sunk in 1940 by bombs, while evacuating troops from Dunkirk. 400 crew and troops lost their lives.

The sound is like a heartbeat. And those beautiful cranks and oilers put on a mesmerizing show, even mesmerizing in your video.
