One model I have always wanted, has arrived.

A new kitty arrived in the hood today, along with some crew for the T72. Crew are extremely well painted, and just need a bit of trimming, and a base to fit them onto. The new acquisition has already annoyed me. A basic plastic Leopard 2A6. Great plan putting the on/off switch under a cover. Stupid idea having to turn the turret to access it. Second it comes with an XT60 plug. Looks like I will be swopping it out to a Deans plug. It also has the ubiquitous HL tank commander.😂 Waiting on the battery to fully charge, I’ll then run to test. I am also cucurious as to how well a basic plastic tank will perform. It does say it has metal gear boxes (I presume, not steel) and I can see metal suspension arms. First jobs will be to change the plug to a dean’s type remove the tail lights that are in the wrong position, and remove the smoker.

Some time ago, I got a winter camouflaged 2A6 Leopard, and, sure enough, it came with the generic HengLong "Panzermann." @) They are useful for practice painting figures, for if one can make the generic Panzermann look OK, the good good figures are a pleasure to paint.

Good morning,
Metal suspension arms! That's a plus. It looks like a solidly built tank model. How does it run?
regards,
Painless

I’ve not yet had an opportunity to try it. It’s been in the house 24 hours and I’ve not taken it apart yet. I have a proper look and give it a run over the weekend..

"It’s been in the house 24 hours and I’ve not taken it apart yet." :haha: Yes that's the first thing I do with a new AFV purchase. If it's RTR, I have appropriate screwdrivers, grease, oil, and smoke fluid in hand, the battery on the charger. I think I learned that one with my first tank purchase years ago.

Finally gave this a run today. It worked quite well. There could be something in these plastic tracks, as others have said. Still gets lots of grass in it, and around it.
Took time to open it up.
Plenty of space inside.

Looks like it is set up to take a recoil as well.

Great looking Leopard, can't get over the size of the turrets on these MBTs! I personally like the all plastic versions of the Heng Longs, and I've still yet to have a failure with trannys or tracks. I do need to swap out my battery connectors, your Deans plugs look excellent. Version 7.0 or 7.1? Wiring harness obscures the number but it looks like it might be a zero.

Good to know about the tracks and transmissions. It’s a plane Jane 7.0.
