Hi all, just joined today I have been interested in tanks since I was 10. I currently have 5x 1/16 RC tanks in my collection and looking forward to buying many more. I used to model in 1/35 scale but I am just so impressed with what you get in 1/16scale. I have visited Duxford, Bovington and Samaur tank museums on many occasions and I am interested in going to the panzer museum at Munster, has anyone been there and is it worth the visit from UK? Magmer from Lancashire UK.

hi magmer
welcome to the best forum on the net

(related to tanks

)
I have been in Munster 4 times now, and it is a great experiance. When you decide to go, you should go when there is the anual exhibition of the models as well as the real stuff.
Check out
www.panzerteam.dk where I have posted tons of pictures and links to videos I did in Munster
Go for it
cheers
Steen

Welcome Magmer, you are in great company. I have always wanted to do Saumer and Munster, I have been through Saumer a few times but never stopped off at the museum. I was in Germany a couple of months ago but nowhere near Munster (I checked the map and it was hundreds of miles away). Definately two places to go though. Apparently Saumer has a secret stockpile of goodies that never go on display, I would love to know what is in there??

Hi, they have a staggering amount of stuff round the back of the museum that just appears to be junk but I guess they will get round to using it someday! Museum itself is like Bovington was in the seventies and not as interactive as museums are nowadays, well worth a visit but the price of kits in the museum shop is horrendous. The previous visit I bought the tamiya Dragon Wagon for £50, it is now well over £100 so much for the Euro! A friend of mine has a Gite that he rents out about 40 mins from Saumur.
