Crosslink Paints

Hello All,

Not too long ago (I somehow can't find the posting now) one of our members posted a comment expressing his pleasure in having found a correct Dunkelgelb spray paint made from original RAL color charts from a paint company called Crosslink Paints (Dallas, Texas). Checking their obviously highly professional operation, I could not locate any paint identified with the RAL 7028 paint code. They had every other conceivable RAL code around RAL 7028, but not RAL 7028.

Does someone amongst our august cadre here recall the post or can direct me to it? I know, I know, I could go straight to Crosslinks, but I want to re-read the post so I don't sound like a complete yo-yo if I call and ask questions about their paint.

Thanks gents,

Ralph

Here is how it looked when I painted with the RAL 8000 as base and 6003 as camouflage from them.

FWIW here is a comparison of the RAL to some Tamiya TS paints-

Image

The mud flap on the left is the RAL 8000 with Jnewboy "Magic Grime" applied.

The mud flap on the right is left to right,

RAL 8000, Tamiya TS-3, RAL 8000, Tamiya TS-46

Merci, Monsieur Chef,

A very efficacious outcome. Nice, subtle blending of the colors. You painted the green from their spray can (with masking) or had the paint mixed for airbrush use, or other?

The RAL 6003 was straight from their can. I used AK masking putty. But as I mention in the other post they do sell the paint in standard liquid form in different volume but I do not know how it will act/react with a modelers airbrush or how you could thin it. I'm sure if you contact them and asked they could guide. Since its an industrial paint I'm sure they're using big sprayers and equipment to apply it. I do know they sell all sorts of primers, thinners etc.
