Here's my age-old, old-age cheer of approval: "Neaty-cool!" As I was re-reading these two pages of yours, I looked up "flimsy cans"--they really are called that! All these years, I had never heard that marvelous appellation.

Yep the flimsy was really called the flimsy, and they really were flimsy. Yet they seemed to be favoured over the jerry can. Of which the name also carries its own history
