Is this becoming the golden...plated age of RC tanking? It will be interesting to see the innards of the Stuart. New gearboxes small enough for a bunch of small tanks?

I suspect that we will find that the M5 is closer to 1/14 scale like the Bradley...
Re: Coolbank/Tongde M5A1 Stuart /Crusader mk III
There's an image from 15th November with a tape against the M5. I make it 258mm from front of track guard to rear of guard. That's 4128mm, so about 2ft shorter than Wiki makes it with sand shield & storage box.
Re: Coolbank/Tongde M5A1 Stuart /Crusader mk III
but the width will be off unless they use 360 motors instead of the normal 380's - that's the only way to get the hull the correct width.
Something about it certainly looks 'off'

Reply is "about 14cm" which puts it at 2240mm, against 2290 from Wiki. Let's hope "about" is fairly precise.

Indeed, but quite interesting if in fact true.
At the 1/16 scale most of the WW2 heavies and larger mediums, along with the cold war MBT's, already exists.
There is a demand for smaller vehicles, like light tanks, cruiser tanks, early war mediums and so on; but when everything has to fit the same, large standard components the packaging to put everything the customers expects into a smaller chassis wasn't really feasible.
Besides being nice, new models in themselves, if these two actually herald stuff like smaller gearboxes or other more miniaturized components, that bodes well for the hobby and what else can be achieved with those components.
