1864 - General Robert E. Lee disperses the Army of Northern Virginia.
He rejected Pres. Jefferson Davis's order to form a guerrilla army to continue
the war.

1941 - The Bataan Death march begins after the fall of Corregidor and the
Bataan Peninsula.

Perhaps in doing so, Lee may have prevented much more death and suffering that would have happened with continued violence.

RE Lee believed in honor. His army fought honorably.
They lost honorably.
He didn't want the AONV to degenerate into and be remembered as a band of bushwhacking
murderers.

The Titanic set sail, the Beatles broke up officially and I got a sweet new therapy job at my local hospital.
A busy date in history for sure. Plus I received my new battery for my Radiomaster today. Such amazing history!

Ive walked the field of Gettysburg................glad no one thought it was a good idea to carry on that kind of mess back then.

Dreadful.
