Typical retired guy--single malt in my favourite glass, day-drinking and watching the eclipse. Going to be 95ish % totality here in Perth.
2:30pm and about 1/8th covered.

In Montreal, we were lucky to be in the 100% path.

Was supposed to be in the 100% viewing area here in Austin, but it was so cloudy I never even saw anything.

Totality at our house was 4 minutes 9 seconds. Simply amazing. 7 years ago we were also at the epicenter. Unbelievably amazing!

A very heavy cloud bank blocked out the sun as it got to 95%. Dang. Had another scotch and watched things get bright again. A good day!

Many years ago I went to stay at my sister's in Cornwall, South West England, to witness a full eclipse.
The best bit for me was how the birds reacted, especially in a huge tree at the back of my sister's house, where a Murder (flock) of crows roost every night. The poor things got so confused when it suddenly got dark, they flew from all directions to that tree, making a hell of a racket, then when they finally started to settle and quiet down a little, it got light again lol.
