NORWEGIAN SNACK FOOD ??

Post by HERMAN BIX »

Yes folks, I have had a special request from my Girls who are cast in a version of Frozen-The Musical.
My Wife has been asked to provide/organise snacks that reflect the Norwegian theme................

I advised that my limited knowlege of the Nordic region means that the punters will be seeing a selection of mullet, salmon, sardines, on dry crisp bread, and a cinnamon scroll
Fairly certain that wont fly down here.

Can any of this wide world of Nations give me a pointer on what we could do to add to the theme, presented on tables, and be ok for general palates.

Cheers in advance.

Why am I worried this will turn into the Geographical traditional culinary delicacies thread part II?

Good Morning,
Being of Norwegian stock. I can confidently say that the National Food of the Country is the ChiliDog! Why, tales resound down the years of Bands of Viking Raiders gathering around a boiling pot of sausages, buns in hand, before a Battle or Raid on an unsuspecting Chili-Hut.
regards,
Painless

Where would the Forum be without our own cultural attache :haha:
I know little about Norwegian food except they do favour Fish products such as "roll mop" and soft roe but Stian should be the man and who knows he might even support Painless :lolno:
I think I am about to upset someone :haha:

My missus remembers eating a Monk Fish meal, and a Reindeer meal at separate times when she went to Kristiansand many years ago for her work.
You could do venison and pretend it's Reindeer if it's not too expensive where you live.
