Thanks , both sides done now - I need therapy !
(These and wheels were supplied by my local club member)
I shall ask if these files will be available , as he does already post on cults .

I purchased the Heng Long black plastic tracks along with the Heng Long metal tracks, solely to make these, with the intention of filing down the chevrons on each plastic link lol.

I tried that , but it's a lot of strife .( I wrecked 'em )
anyhoo , here's a close up of the finnished thing - now suitably bashed and bruised

That finished result is stunning with the pad damage! I do know the effort required, but the result is worth the effort in my opinion.

Oh, am I going to have fun removing the double track pins. I wonder if Toucan Hobby sells the M$ track pins separately...
