Hi all.

My question is, where the crew of up armoured M4A3E8 Shermans moved the 50 cal forward, to be positioned in front of the loaders hatch, did they relocate (cut from the hull) the original gun pedestal mount from behind the commanders cupola and weld it in the new location?

Or would they have taken the new pedestal mount from a destroyed tank as they did with the added armour for the tank body?

Any pics appreciated. I have searched the Internet to no avail.

There are plenty of photos around, some are in my thread from my first and most recent up armoured Sherman builds.

Some were bolted to new housings, others were just welded in new places, like over the periscope sights etc.
