Leather strap ideas

I need to fabricate some leather straps for fastening down some gear. Any ideas out there from those that enjoy a little tank domination?

There is also brass foil, like this. I believe this seller may be in China, but I only chose it as an example to show what is available. And therefore I can't vouch for this particular seller.

There may be multiple uses for this brass, especially given the variety of sizes.

Purchased! I've got a 1m roll of 0.2mm copper coming my way via Amazon. That's the same thickness as a doubled piece of masking tape so I'm thinking a good thickness to keep all things strappy to scale. A cleaning, scuffing and etch primer should get good paint adhesion. I think the shape holding capabilities of copper will make it nice to work with to replicate loose and taut straps, creases, folds, twists etc.

This could be worth a try, If you put "faux leather fabric" in to ebay, there are lots of choices and colours. Many offering samples very cheaply.

Well I think that the pics I've added cover a couple of things in the thread, leather straps and scale horses
I bought the leather strapping from ebay to make the harnesses for them, it may be a little thick for most applications but I'm sure that you'll be able to get different thicknesses
