Would appreciate opinions of the HL StuG and Konigstiger:

Hello, fellow nerds. More questions from the weird guy.
I’m grateful for your previous thoughts. I’m not finding a lot on the Heng Long KT or StuG. A little on the earlier releases, but not much.
Would either be worth my time, or would you advise me to keep looking? In both cases, I’m looking at the “pro” versions modified by Toucan, assuming that makes a difference. I’ve found that my Toucan modified Sherman does run well, albeit the wiring is a bit of a nest.
I’m simply very nervous about pulling the trigger on a vehicle this new to the hobby without knowing the opinions of those better informed. Have heard too of many nightmarish experiences!

That I know of, any V7 stugs have Abrams/Leo sounds so that would need to be changed.
The kts are good out of the box but again check what board is fitted to get the correct sounds

HLs Stug uses the PZIII chassis as expected and that's a pretty dependable unit. It has its accuracy issues but depending on your rivetcounter tolerance they can be fixed or forgotten. Some I forget about, some I deal with.
The HL TK7.0 has two soundsets--the one with the little short red antenna is a Tiger 1 and T90. The black antenna is Abrams and Leopard. So your mission will be to ask Toucan to make sure it has the red antenna unit, pretty please, with a Maybach on top. Not that HL soundsets are that stellar, but something Germanic and World War Twoeey helps.
No experience with the Royal Tiger, but with the exception of the Pantiger, is anything HL makes that much of a turkey? Maybe the Bulldog for accuracy but still a respected runner.
Mike.

A gentleman and a scholar, sir. I thank you.
Edit: Forgot to ask. Does anything re: accuracy particularly stand out?

Heed Mr. Bix's warning. For some reason the current spate of 7.0's are not including the KT's soundset, mine included. If you can get a guarantee for the sound that'd be great. I do Not have a Stug, one will be in my future though.
I do have a Pro King Tiger that I got from Motion RC on sale for Christmas 2022. Metal up the a55. Definitely a big girl. So much so that movement feels and looks scale to what it's anemic movements must have actually been like.
I'm very satisfied with it. I haven't had any issues with it thus far and I do run it off road. The only thing that sucks is that it's smoker is cliche Heng Long, this one being one that works poorly. And my only personal gripe is the 7.0 soundset is Not the Maybach 230. But other than that she's a big beast and fun to run.
The one thing I'll mention is that when considering modding by removing the side fenders there is a gap that runs the length of the tank between the top and lower hull sections that needs to be addressed. Fortunately there are several builds here that show the process.
Feel free to ask any questions you like.

Just an FYI the tale of the red or black antenna indicating the soundset isn't correct. At least in my experience 4 times/tanks. There is actually a way they label them as Toucan offers the 7.0/7.1 with the soundset choice.

Good to know. They're consistent in their listings with the red and black pairings but obviously they mix and match in real life.
Mike.

This morning, Mithras, I look around the U.S., U.K. and DE for a Taigen StuG, the quality of which, and the sound of which, would be better. I had no luck. Taigen tanks are becoming harder to find. I keep hoping that this is so because Taigen is upgrading its electronics again to keep the good sound, but match HengLong's flexibility of control. I suspect the truth is "fat chance." You may have better luck trying to find a Taigen or Torro King Tiger (Königstiger, actually Bengal Tiger).

I think our local Hobbytown in Indianapolis has the Taigen Tiger. Not sure if its the King TIger though. They have several of the Taigen tanks in stock in both IR and bb versions. I just got my Sherman there a week ago. But they do not list them on their chain website. They have a tanker on staff in the local RC dept, so he brings in the good stuff
