Nubby king Tiger

Hi all, I’ve always had a fascination with tanks and I like the RC models, in my infinite wisdom I decided to buy a metal 1/16 king tiger kit, love the model however the electronics side of it are warring me down (yes total out of my depth) so much choice and not all compatible. The company I purchased it from said “we’ll help no problem” so I asked for all components that come with the Ready To Roll version, I said how much they sent me the price, I sent the money and received parts that already come with the kit version and only some parts necessary for the tank. Long story short I kept asking for information and received very little. I now have a clerk TK22 / receiver MA-1020 / Mato 4 channel transmitter a slip ring 18 and purchased many different wires and connectors in a bid to complete it and have it running as it should ha ha unfortunately not. I’ve downloaded some information from your forum so going for a read.
If anyone feels they may be able to help please contact me. Thanks for listening to my gripe.new

Well, welcome to RC tanks. ;) I'm only half kidding as you decided to jump into the deep end of the pool. Unless the kit tank is a Tamiya, the learning curve is quite steep. I have many Clark boards, but none of the TK22 which is non-Sbus. I always recommend a person buys a low cost HL tank as a first tank as then they learn all the quirks of tanks before spending a bunch of money on something over their head. I'm going to guess that you are in the UK? There are a few clubs there and maybe someone can help you get started.

Thank you for giving us an introduction, Kezz. I am sorry you are having trouble mastering the electronics. As tankme notes, you are into what for me, too, is an interesting but challenging aspect of the hobby: the electronics. Let me see if I can start the help from my limited knowledge in a way that might help the wizards better guide you.
1) Can you confirm if I am correct about the following. You have a Mato ? Tiger I with a Clark ? MFU and a Clark ? MA1020 receiver and a Mato transmitter. These are a likely combination, similar to that in my Mato M10 (if so, I mught be able to help a wee bit).
2) In what country are you located? If you are OK with giving the city that could help, for just as tankme say, in-person help can’t be beat.
3) who was the seller of the Tiger and electronics?

Hi tankme, I understand your advice and totally agree I’ve had a Tamiya Tiger 1 for many years that I got the grandkid to play with, the king tiger was for me and yes it’s totally different.
Her Dr. Professor your also right the king tiger is a Mato I purchased from Toucan through Ali express. Even the Mato transmitter operates totally different than the Tamiya. One of the last communications I had with Toucan they said I should have purchased the ready to roll version (after I’d paid for the Kit version) they were right if I’d known it was far more advanced I would have bought the RTR version, hindsight is a wonderful thing isn’t it.
I live near Manchester England and I’ll try and find a RC cub near me though I think most of them are mainly for cars planes and helicopters, I shall keep looking.
Thanks for reaching out guys much appreciated, Kezz !

I'm familiar with Clark boards, but not the PPM 4 channel versions. The setup is just different. I would help, but I haven't done it and not with that radio.

As an outside chance, Kezz, use the search function here on RCTW (upper right) and type in Nogo. That should take you to the long, traumatic history of my Mato M10 with discussion, advice, and photos about the Clark board, etc. Maybe yours is the same board and transmitter. (That‘s the best I can do for now, as I‘m away from my PC until 4 January, stuck with just this iPhone.)

Sorry for the delay Nubby king Tiger and thanks for the advice, must admit I left it alone for quite sometime thought it better than throwing it through the window LOL, in other words give it a rest.
