Great weathering, MrChef: not overdone, but shows wear as if in the field a bit. And to quote the title of a Dylan album, there's "Mud on the Tracks."

Thanks Herr Dr. as you likely already know the Tiger I is my first RC tank so I appreciate your kind words with one of my first "projects". I wasn't ready for a full paint job yet. Weathering took hold of me however and BLAM here I am. My pet peeve for period tanks in service is overwhelming Rust. They very usually didn't last long enough to rust. I am however extremely comfortable with dirt, dust and mud.

I've got Tigers on the brain lately and was a bit jealous of not getting in on the action. Today was beautiful in the 50's so I struck while the iron was hot. It was loads of fun going through two whole batteries per tank, churning up the soft brown earth. Plus my forecast calls for rain the next three days so I needed a little vitamin D. I'm hoping to start priming some of the group Tiger by next weekend.

MrChef,

The Kommandanten of your Tiger I und Königstiger need, unh, a makeover. And it is scary to try to paint figures, especially the faces, and especially if they are costly 3D or resin cast one. Although I painted a few metal 54 mm figures when I was an undergraduate during a previous millennium (not sure which one), I "re-upped" more recently by practicing on surplus HengLong stock Kommandanten and an commanders. PM me if you want some of my stock.

So True Herr Dr. Sooo sad but true. Yes that's a very gracious way of putting it. These guys only ever benefitted from me giving them washes.

Here is a guy I tried from scratch. I never really finished him because I lost interest.

Thank you for your offer for more Hans's, I have a collection myself. At least 5 unfinished and a few primed and shaded inbetween.

Great photos. Nothing like getting the tanks outdoors for proper photos.
