Hello people of this lively message board,
It's great to meet some fellow enthusiastic people who love tanks like I always do, not for the war aspects but just the technical side and the beauty of design.
This is my Taigen Tiger early version.
It's bought second hand and I've had some startup problems which I hope to address and solve with some of your knowledgeable people.
I will try to set them out in the right board parts to come.
As English isn't my first language I will try to do my best to describe what I'm planning for this amazing machine.
I don't think the colour "sand Yellow" of Vajello is a true colour of the tiger back in the days of Tunesia but I found the download part with the RAL colours. That is a great start.

It's a full metal edition with the steel / 4:1 / 380 motor set. V3 Motherboard.
Now it has a steel turret but I'm going to try to replace it with a Plastic IR version with 360 slip ring eventually.

Humbrol make a "Desert Sand" paint in plastic bottles or in Rattle cans that are much closer to the true colour of a Tunisian Tiger but before you go any further you really must get rid of that surplus to requirements Spare Aerial Holder on the left rear flank (Left is as viewed from the drivers position looking forward),
Surprisingly easy to do just start a cut beneath it with a craft knife and it will simply peel off,
Tigers only had one spare aerial holder and that was on the right flank.
Just look through the Heng Long Tiger 1 builds and you will be buried in stuff you never believed a 1/16 Tank could have done to it.
Taigen Tiger 1s are almost identical with most parts being interchangeable and if you are in doubt ask us someone will know.

Thank you, Meter rat!
I must say that jarndice was one (among several) forum members that pretty much motivated me to make accurate upgrades and gave me advice which Iām glad I followed.
Now that aerial holders have been mentioned I would suggest removing them from both sides and scratch build one for the right side. I used brass tube and styrene pieces to raise the tube slightly proud of the deck and I believe it looks much more realistic. Mine sits a bit too tall but Iām leaving it.

Jimster I was trying not to scare our latest member away, Slowly catchee monkey

then throw just about every mod in the book at the poor (Well soon to be ) fellow,
Joking Bennie although this is not a poor mans hobby in my Bank managers experience

But there are some perfectionists in this Forum who frighten me to death with their desire for realism.
Dont you worry I will look after you (As the King Cobra said to the mouse).

Aye! *EDIT* ah, I needed to put in "Tiger 1 version early" silly me...
As I'm more a mechanic as a painter, I'm more interested in how the thing works instead of religiously following historical correct images. As seen on many photos the spare tracks were op top of the front / back as well totally absent. However I like them on my turret. I do find a lot of inspiration of the old pictures.
Thanks!
