This will be a cool build!

Hi Mike,
I think you are mixing up the SU-76 and the SU-76i. The SU-76 is a Soviet design with open gunner placement. By the way, the SU-12 is the SU-76 with roof.

The SU76 had some serious problems, and was followed by the SU-76m, you can read more about it here: https://www.tankarchives.ca/2018/04/su- ... d-spg.html

I think that was his point. He would want to get out of the SU-76 that has no roof and jump in the SU-76i that had an armored roof... :D

Ah, one of my classic "misunderstandings" :D
Sorry, but as I mentioned the SU-12 was the version with the roof.
For the SU-76i I read that some crews in summer removed the roof. According to my info, the hull was welded except for the roof, that was bolted on.

Ordered some mesh (do you call it like that?) to cover the airintakes for the SU76i.

And thanks to Kaczor, I dont have to design the open intakes my self, I found them on thingiverse: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4688789

I see that the open airintakes are also available in the conversion kit from Baldrick's SIG 33, so I will have a look which fits the best viewtopic.php?t=33224&hilit=sig33&start=30

Yup, that is mesh. And nice link to those intakes, they look great!

So Kaczor designs it, puts it on Thingiverse for all to use and enjoy? That is a superb example of how you grow a hobby for everyone involved. Downloaded and I don't even have a printer yet...but I do have a Stug! Kudos to you, Kaczor Sir!

If you have a Stug that you want to update, you really have to look at Baldricks files https://cults3d.com/en/3d-model/game/st ... or-sig-33b
He designed the Sig33 on top of the Stug upper hull and made a lot of accessoires, hatches and the intakes, all for free too.

I printed the files from Baldricks set, they look good.

Good choice, Jee! The printed intakes will make an improvement on what I always thought was an insufficiently detail part on the Panzer III, Stug, and TauchPanzer.

Herr Dr, yes I agree, it will look much better with the new airintakes.
