I've been interested in R/C tanks since I first saw them 20 years ago. Last year I finally began to take up the hobby, and get back into 1/35 armor modeling as my kids have grown and are off starting lives of their own. I've been visiting Rc Tank Warfare to read off and on over the years and finally signed up last September, but was still lurking...

I started out buying just parts and used broken tanks of all sizes and scales just so I could get some hands on and learn. I've fixed up a bunch, mostly just replacing old NiMH batteries but I've fixed gear boxes changed out electronics, etc. As of now I've got a couple of Konami DigiQ, a bunch of the original VS-Tanks, a VS-X Set with a T34 and a Tiger, a 1/24 VS-Tank Pro Sherman, a Taigen 1\16 M41 Walker Bulldog. Have a WPL and a JJRC truck in that mix too.

I just recently bought my first new tank, a plastic Heng Long M4A3 Sherman that I've just begun to customize into an M4A1(76)W HVSS. I'm also playing with a couple of other projects mixing and matching parts from different R/C tanks and Toys and after years of reading modelers' posts in the "Show Off" forum and thinking how cool his stuff was I'm finally doing my first 1/35 conversion on a Tamiya M41 Walker Bulldog. Not partial to it, just that found 3 for $11.00 each at Hobby Lobby so guinea pigs. Nothing to shout about just yet, just a lower hull and suspension running around on a $6 toy controller and receiver.

In a year and a half or so I've gone from zero to my wife's comments "You have a tank problem" when she comes into my office in the basement, little does she now, I've just gotten started. :)

It's taken me years, I'm enjoying it a whole bunch, and looking forward to learning more from and actually chatting with you all.

Thanks!

That's not a problem...that's just a start... Now I have a problem. I think I have close to 20 operational tanks now and a little more than 20 non-operational project tanks from scales 1/16th, 1/10th, and 1/6th. One of these days I'll have to get a group photo of all my tanks, but it might take half the day to gather them all in one place. :)

Great introduction/first post, and with a picture to boot. Welcome. I have a feeling you're going to fit right in!

Welcome from Ontario, Canada!
Isn't New Hampshire's state motto "Live free or die...under an enormous pile of rc tanks"? ;)

Welcome to the forum Ziptar. Orr welcome out of hiding. I don't see any tank problem at all.

On another note. My family lives in the granite state as well. My brother is in Portsmouth, my parents in Holderness on Squam Lake.

Wow! I second Ecam's comment: you have given us a model (pun intended) introduction. Darn right "you're going to fit right in!" So you think you have a problem? :haha: :haha: :haha:
Here 's a photo from one of my introductory posts from 2019. However, the situation has improved since then: now there are twice as many tanks! 8O :/

Tis a fine line between hobby and mental health issues !!................just ask my Mrs, she'll confirm I'm over the line :/
Great to have you "come in from the cold" and expose yourself (figuratively !)

Hey Proff, I’ve heard of Doomsday Prepping but you’ve got that covered with preparing for a downfall of all hobby manufacturing as we know it !!
