Hi there everyone
Some advice needed for a newbie here!!!
I brought a king tiger ( Mato ) which was great, unfortunately I tried fitting a tarr mk4 smoker to it , the only smoke I got was from the motherboard, which is now kaput, I believe

,
Is it possible to fit a 7.1 motherboard in its place as I don’t understand the Mato board at all( I think it’s a (Clark) I’m not sure, the tank is a couple of years old.
I wish I had never touched it in the first place

You are correct: it is--unh---was a Clark board. I think that if you switch out to HengLong 7.1, you might have to settle for a bit less realistic sound, and you will likely need to use the HengLong transmitter, too. Have you considered replacing the Clark board? There are many here on RCTW who could walk you through it.

Thank you very much for that Professor,
The sound on the Clark board is great,, it’s just a bit too complicated for me, I have a new 7:1 board , my confidence has had a kicking ,
Where in England, can I buy a Clark board??
I appreciate your input

Hello Db72,
Did you figure out why the Clark board released the magic smoke ie incorrect polarity of the plug etc? Do you know what version board you were running? Some of the older Clark boards don't like you drawing too many amps and the heater element of a smoker can certainly do that
I believe the official dealer for Clark in the UK is a company called tankzone but be aware many members of this forum will not touch them with a barge pole. There is on the other hand a fine member on here who goes by the handle' maxxmekker' whose from Norway and offers a great service, send him a PM and I'm sure he'll be able to hook you up, hope this helps
Cheers,Lee.

I would agree with Lee, don't go near Tankzone unless you like firing emails at a black hole when you need to contact them. I use MAxxmekker for the boards and he will even see about configuring it up with better sounds if you ask him and the board you choose supports it. Nothing wrong with the 7.1 board but the Clark, along with the support from MaxMakker, are a major step up.

I have always heard recommendations for Maxmekker, even a decade ago. He knows those Clark boards thoroughly.

Cheers guys for the info

I have actually been looking at tankzone, & there website says (unsercure )which I thought was a bit dodgy,,,
I don’t have a clue about motherboards at the moment, as I really enjoy painting & weathering them , I am learning though

I’ve never been on a forum before so I really appreciate your help chaps.
