And now an Andy’s Hobby HQ T23 turret.

That looks a lot like the unidentified hull I used on my M4A1. Mystery solved! I'll be watching this thread. Did the bike come with it? Nice touch.

Cool! I cant wait to see how you set up the Andy's turret. I bought the kit in hopes of mating the top to a Tamiya lower...the hull fits and thats as far as I have got. LOL

Yes, the bike came with it, along with all the stowage etc. not a bad build overall.

Been playing with the recoil and elevation today, should have a few photos over the next week or two showing progress.

Side skirts from the AHHQ kit bonded on the cast hull using plasticard strip.

Turret taking shape - used a Tamiya Pershing recoil and stay to fix to the AHHQ mantlet using brass standoffs and screws through the mantlet.

Elevation should work as well as I have used the Tamiya Sherman elevation bracket.

Anybody know where to get a suitable barrel for a 76mm Sherman?

You might be able to find the one used in Andy's Hobby HQ E8 online on EBay. I purchased separate sprues from the same kit off eBay to rebuild a Tamiya M4 rear deck. I'm also converting my Tamiya M4 into an E8 using Andy's M4A3E8 upper chassis and turret. Using the Tamiya Pershing recoil and gun elevation. Very interested in how you plan to tackle the turret rotation.

I have the barrel from the Andy’s kit, it’s not hollow and a bit thin so can’t drill it and add recoil.

Sadly the turret is a bit on the large side to fit in the cast hull shot ring and rubbing is an issue.

Rotation is easy - screwed on the sherman 105mm rotation plate.

Did you purchase the entire kit from Andy? It's the first time I've seen one
