New to RC and new to forum

I am a hammer and nails kind of guy 76 years old, jumping into the RC armored world with both feet! I'm mechanically inclined but not to savvy in the realm of electronics. I don't know if I will ever post a question. I will probably just scan the forums to gather as much as I help as I need if I have trouble because, I kind of like to figure out something on my own, but electronics aren't as easy for me as mechanical things are. I will of course offer as much help and advice (little as it may be) to others, as I can! At present have four Heng Long tanks. A German King Tiger Henschel Pro, Tiger I upgraded, M1A2 Abrams upgraded, and a M26 Pershing Pro, all 7.0. My hope is to modify and upgrade all, both in function and appearance and any help or ideas I can gain from this forum will be appreciated indeed! Thanks in advance, and I hope I can also help someone in some small way.

Hello, and welcome to this forum.. you have come to the right place, to learn a lot about RC tanks, you already have a nice collection, and some photos of your work would be appreciated
for electronics? no worries, there are a lot of skills on this forum, in this area, as in others for that matter

Welcome to the forum! I'm a Chef by trade (go figure) so I'm a hands on working guy myself. I can relate to mechanics and appearance but also Not an electronics genius. There are many knowledgeable and helpful members here for any topic or issue. I understand lurking behind the scenes and reading up on things, I did that too for at least 4 years, but after I finally joined here realized my mistake of not joining up sooner and being able to ask specific questions when they arose or just being part of a hobby community that interests me.
Feel welcome here.
Ask whatever questions you have. We were all new once.
Above all Have FUN!
Enjoy,
Chef

Welcome, turrettenant! Thank you for such an informative introduction. You are welcome to "lurk," to ask questions, to offer suggestions for mechanical questions, even to join in the occasional supportive banter, ranging from bad puns to rare occurrences of always-tasteful ribaldry (

), from head-scratching about electronics to complaints about old age.

Welcome Turrettenant, from Argyll and Bute. I was an electrician by trade and a substation fitter, and I cannot figure out the dark art of electronics. Anything below 240v and I’m stumped. Then again I am stumped with my modelling.
