A friend of mine lost interest in his Tamiya Centurion - he is mainly into WW2 tanks so we struck up a deal for my Tamiya Tiger I.

I am now the owner of a potential shot meteor Centurion.

It has had an MK 105mm barrel and aerials added, along with the part extended fuel tank on the hull and some turret top mods.

I’ll do some more detailed photos later as I only collected it last night.

I'll be watching, since I have a Haya Centurion coming across the water and through US customs. (Gulp! Handle with Care! Please!)

When my Haya Centurion arrived it was overall in good order EXCEPT that a side support of the engine bay was snapped off and I noticed that at least one other member of the Forum had the same damage to his Tank,
Dont despair a smear of superglue fixed it and you would never notice that anything untoward had occurred,
Do read the not overly helpful pamphlet or you will put the battery in and try all the systems but while it all works it wont go, You need to flick a switch first and then it drives.
Otherwise it is a most rewarding tank,
Prepping mine for the Berlin Brigades Olive drab paint.

Thanks for the alert, Jarndice. I am accustomed to making repairs to plastic. Do you know if the Berlin Brigades OD is the same as the US WWII OD (FS34087)?

Thanks Dr - the Haya offering is a fine model and I’m sure you will make a great looking tank

I will post some photos of the markings/colour I have in mind. My second Centurion will be a Korean MK3 version as per the box art.

The British Berlin Brigade along with the French armour in Berlin during those dark days deliberately shared the same colour paint as the US armour to reduce confusion in case the hit the fan.

Some nice upgrades/detail parts on the Centurion.

MK aerials and 105mm barrel.

Brass shackles and bolt detail.

Shapeways periscopes and guards.

Looking forward to researching and moving forwards with this one.

Those added details on the Tamiya Centurion make me wonder how one might give up. On the other hand, I have an M198 155 mm static model right now that has me because it's 95% success through patient work and 5% ugly problem. I haven't given up. I am relieved about the Centurion in FS34087, for (being a Yankee/German/Polish mess myself), I have plenty of Olive Drab on hand in four or five brands of paint.

Centurions in Korea were in SCC15.

Deep Bronze Green came later and was very much a peacetime colour. Gloss paint is no use in combat, but is better for looking good for longer. You could call SCC15 "dark". It was much darker than Khaki Green and greener than US OD.

Here are a couple of photos of what I’m trying to achieve.

Shot Meteor version - original engine and deck.

Shot Kal version is the Continental diesel upgrade, hull extension with internal fuel tank.




Front tank is an upgraded MK3, the rear tank is an upgraded MK5.



Top is a Shot Meteor, bottom Shot Kal.
