Welcome Sir,
You'll find helpful, knowledgeable, friendly folks here.
I am sure there are many who would like to hear your "sad" story on the Tongde Centurion. It will surely help others decide on their possible purchase.

Greetings Oldnbusted: what a great moniker! You should have no trouble with the Leopard, and I am sorry to hear about the Tongde Centurion, but that has been an item of discussion/grumbles here. Let us know all about it, for if you can get help anywhere, it's here in RCTW. (Hey, these wizards even help me!) And details about the Leopard are welcome, too. (E.g. metal or plastic parts...type of electronics [getting better all the time]...how does it run...any plans for use...modifications, etc.)

Ht, Welcome to the Forum

, I recently took delivery of a Haya Centurion so I shall be interested in your tales of problems and solutions with the Tongde Centurion.
Do ask questions of us, being helpful is what we do,
I would hope the HL Leo will present you with fewer problems.

Hello and welcome from Argyll and Bute. It will be interesting to read your thoughts on the Leopard. And you plans for it, as I fancy one, in the near future.

Thank you all for the kind words, I have posted an update on the centurion on the modern tank board.
The Leo was not a planed purchase but as new only taken out of box to check, steel gearbox, metal arms at such a good price i could not let it go! I am thinking about getting the metal sprockets and idler wheels, brass etch grills upgrade, for a start.
"Oldnbusted " was a nickname given to me by members of my rifle club because of my love for classic firearms.

Read your Centurion update and unfortunately it mimics so many other Tongde experiences I've seen in the past.
The Leo I am definitely interested in getting as my first Modern MBT. From what I've researched the Leo I'd start with an Upgrade version with Steel gearbox and the rest plastic. Then add Metal Sprockets, front axle support bearings and upgrade the tracks to Plastic Tamiya version. Then if it was me my plan was to do barrel recoil, smoke and flash, deleting the BB capability. I'd look for the PE grills and I wish I could find a nice easy replacement/upgrade for the bustle baskets but haven't found anything good yet. Maybe your experience will guide me further.
