Rubber Replacement Tires for Trumpeter Panzer IV

Hi All,

A short time back, someone was offering actual rubber replacement tires for the Trumpeter Panzer IV kit. Anyone building one of these kits knows the 'joys' of attaching those awful simulated tires that Trumpeter, for reasons that can only be explained by a madman, chose to design into these kits. At the time, I did not have the foresight to order a set; now, I can't seem to find them anywhere. Does anyone in the great mind-bank that frequents this site have any leads for this procrastinator? Thanks chaps.

Ralph

Hey Tom,

Not really. They're a bit too narrow and the profile would be bit thin. Thanks for the thought. Memo to self: strike while the iron's hot...or something.

'Tis a thought. Will look into the idea, hopefully without having to purchase a complete set. Thanks

Personal experiance tells me that HL PZ4 tyres are a very tight fit on HL PZ4 wheels and rollers.
Bathing the tyres in hot water and smearing liquid soap on the wheels and rollers makes it an easier fit.

I'll have to remember that one! I've had the same issue putting the asiatam rubber tyres on the taigen type metal wheels.

That a thought though Mr Schwerepanzer they might fit.

'Greasing' the tires (and other tight fitting parts) with a droplet of liquid soap can work wonders to overcome the problem of parts that slide together. Of course, the residue has to be completely washed/wiped away before any priming or painting. I've used the trick to advantage numerous times. Unfortunately, the trick doesn't do anything to expand the width or diameter of rubber tires and sadly, Mato or HL or Taigen Panzer IV tires are too narrow to fit over the plastic trumpeter wheels completely.

Thanks for the help, chaps.
