i want to paint my tank do i need to remove the wheels and tracks is it easy to remove them how do i remove them without breaking anything ?
how do you do yours ?

Yes, it is better to remove the wheels and tracks for painting. Depending on the manufacturer, they are attached differently, but usually they are small bolts or screws. You remove the tracks by pushing out one of the pins.
What is the model and manufacturer of your tank?

I’m not fussed about the tank, I like his name suggesting that we have a Metallica fan here

IIRC he has an older Heng Long Pershing.
OP, yes as suggested removing all of the running gear is the best and easiest way to paint. Heng Long uses sumple Phillips head or "X" pattern screws of varying sizes. Usually the road wheels and sprocket (wheel that has teeth that drive the track) are the same sized screw head and the idler wheel a smaller screw that is captured within the wheel, at least for current models. Yours I remember is an older model so sizes may vary. It is Not hard to remove everything.
The key to removing tracks is to use a simple tack or push pin and use it with a small hammer or other tool to tap out the pin from the track. You only need to remove one track pin per side for the track to loose and fall off. If a pin doesn't tap out easily then just pick another pin. It's best to prop the tank sideways on a flat sturdy surface when tapping out the track pins so there is minimal flex and maximum pushing of the pin.
Here is a video to show you. It's not the same model as yours but the procedure is the same for tracks.
OP I think your challenge for yourself and us is your topic Titles. I understand you want to paint, but this topic is about removing running gear. Had you searched about removing tracks and wheels you would find the topic easily. Very helpful Chef I would only add that Track pins are narrower at one end than the other so if on first tapping the pin has no result try tapping the other end.
Careful where you remove track pins as they can shoot out of the track and are lost forever unless you tie a countersunk magnet to a bootlace and trawl the carpet.

sorry for the wrong title will remember in future. so the smaller wheels just pull off the and bigger ones alan key is that right. i have a bit of arthritis in my hands so my be a bit of trouble bt ill try lol

very big metallica fan yes. seeing them at pictures next thursday cant wait ive seen live about five times now
