New Guy with a question - HL Abrams recoil

Hello to all. I recently joined the forum and have introduced myself in another thread. After many years, I'm now getting back into the hobby. As I try to select my first purchase, I have a question about the HL Abrams and main gun recoil. I've seen more than one video on YouTube where the recoil seems to start about half a second or more before the sound occurs. Is this intentional, the result of a weak battery, or a common issue with their Abrams? Looking at vids of their Leopard 2A6 and Challenger, this situation does not seem as common. I'm looking to get back in the hobby for IR battles and custom fine detailing. Will staying away from the BB version avoid this recoil/sound delay? Thanks for any advice and if I posted this in the wrong place, please forgive my oops and point me in the right direction.

I am not as experienced with the HengLong MFUs as with Taigen, so I cannot be direct help. However, the term "recoil" in the search box at the upper right of almost every RCTW page might lead you to some help. Here is the URL for a long discussion of the HengLong MFUs that come in most of the contemporary HengLong tanks now available:

This is how stock heng long recoil works.
There is a motor in BB unit which drives a piston connected to the barrel. The spring compress, then the piston touches a micro switch closing the circuit (CH6). This tells MFU to stop powering that motor which releases the piston, spring decompress. Only at the time of touching the switch the sound is played. In other words the barrel moves back to its minimum position, then the sound is played and at the same time the barrel moves back to its original position.
You could upgrade MFU to Heng Long 6.1 or 7.1. These boards use servo for recoil and the synchronisation is much better. This is straight forward swap from connections point of view but you would need to replace or upgrade your BB unit so it works with servo.

Thanks from me, too, ahkh. The Taigen recoil functions (and malfunctions

) in just the same way. It has been well over a decade since I first encountered the problem of the micro-switch not releasing, and as that was one of the tanks I bought rather early on, I learned a great deal by opening the Torro KV-2, the turret, and fiddling with the switch.
