It's bath time! Did you get your swimsuit?

Post by Manu-Military »

Hi all,

Here it is at last fully completed.
This has been a very long term project but I'm glad to have been able to finalize it.

As a reminder, this kit has all been scratchbuilt except for the tracks that were bought ready to be installed in 3D in a shop on Shapeways as is the US Navy LCT crew standing on the deck waiting for going back to his ship.
This LVT is my what I assume to be the closest rendition of one of the two used on D-Day on Omaha Beach while serving within the 459th Amphibious Truck Co.

Thank you to all of you who followed and commented this built from the start and hello to new comers, you're welcome.

Please note that later today, I'll be adding much more photos from of the building steps from the very begining to the achieved model.
So feel free to check http://manu-military.e-monsite.com/

Here are (taken out from my bookshelf) some useful litterature about LVT and some other information I've been using:

What a realistic look you have accomplished, right down to the stowage and sailor. And your list of sources is a bonus, making this old prof's heart sing. Congratulations on such excellent work!
