Hi guys!  I just couldn't resist, I pressed the Buy it Now button and got myself my second Heng Long tank!!!!  The thing is I thought it was a Tiger 1 S&S when I ordered it on my mobile but it turns out its a Panther S&S - even better!!!!!

I double checked and it says S&S
Its 1/16
Its a Heng Long alright!

Does anyone know about these panthers?  They any good or have I a lemon?  Is the lower hull identical to a Tiger for easy fitting of metal hull?

Often refered to as a Pantiger, its basicaly a tiger with a different upper hull, so yes, it can be upgraded just like a Tiger. Theres a lot of different opinions on these Panthers and many folks are waiting for HL's re-ralease of of it which is more accurite with its own lower hull and drive components. But hey, there not bad tanks, and can be made to look realy good.

Thanks Von!  I just had that thought that I may have the pantiger and remembered all the bad things said about it!  I'm not unhappy about it though   Since the problems are only skin deep and its a Tiger 1 at heart, I don't mind what it looks like as long as it can be made to be metal Plus I can stick a Tiger top on so its all good news!

I sent a message to the seller explaining I bought the wrong tank and asked him to change it to a tiger I will find out soon when it arrives hehe!

Yeh why not If he doesnt, get your self down to Howes and pick your self up a Tiger upper hull from there discount range up stairs. I see your in Northants, where abouts? Im in daventry and it takes me about 45mins to get to Howes in Kidlington.

Whoa thats the second tanker I met nearby!  I'm in Rushden so since its not to far away I could get myself there

With a litte model skills, you can end up with a type like this. It was originally a "pantiger" but I changed it a little bit.

Hi Tribalmasters , I have the HL Pantiger and to be honest dont realy like how inacurate it is . I to bought the S&S version . Ive since ripped al the electronics out . And planed on turning it into a battelfield wreck . Im sort of followig Gras build . Ive cut the top section up , narrowed it , lengthened it , altered the rear panel angle and a hole load of other alterations . See my build in the HL section . Im going to get the HL Panther G when it comes out as Im out of work at the mo so cant afford a Tamiya one  . Im in Peterborough Cambs so close to ?

Sound like it could be hard work turning it into a proper tank, luckily I may have saved myself as the seller responded to my email to say he would send me a tiger instead   Got the shipping confirmation this morning so wish me luck haha!!
